17 on the 17th

It was a big weekend for Stockton.

He finally got his drivers license after a year of permits, courses, and tests.

The night before his birthday, he went on his first date - a double date with his best friend - the four of them catching a train to Grand Central, then a subway to Greenwich Village, going to a performance of the Blue Man Group, hot chocolate at Starbucks across the street afterwards, back on the subway to Grand Central, and then a train home.

Lucky kids!

His birthday fell on Homecoming and as a member of student council, he marched in the homecoming parade and escorted a homecoming queen at half time during the football game. Oh to be 17 again.

Sounds so fun... but don't you find it a bit hard to let go and let him date, drive, take the train into the city? Or is it just me?! But I guess mine's still only 14. Either that or I'm a control freak!
